If you have a 'knock' when accelerating or lifting off, you likely have a worn lower engine mount. If left unchecked, this can cause damage to the 'flexi' section of the exhaust due to excessive movement.

Inspect your lower mount bushes - they should be free from major cracks and tears.

This part is designed for use with Petrol engines (except V8). It will however fit a diesel, and can be used for a diesel. However, if used in this context you may experience greater amounts of vibration translated through the cabin, and also any warranty will be invalidated if fitted in this context
