Terms and Conditions

Discount MG Rover Spares is committed to ensuring you receive top-quality goods and service from us at all times.

We will comply with all relevant legislation such as the Sale Of Goods Act, Distance Selling Regulations and Supply Of Goods And Services Act.

If you have a product that is faulty within the warranty period, please contact us and we will ensure the matter is resolved to your satisfaction.

Terms of website use

Please read these terms of use carefully before you start to use the site. By using our site, you indicate that you accept these terms of use and that you agree to abide by them. If you do not agree to these terms of use, please refrain from using our site.

Discount codes

Only discount codes published by Discount MG Rover Spares may be used - any codes posted on other websites will not work, and we are not responsible if non-working codes are posted by these sites.

We reserve the right to cancel any order placed with a discount code under the following circumstances:
- Where the discount code contains an erroneously large discount
- Where the product is specifically excluded in the published discount
- Where a product is part of a limited production run / group buy (including but not limited to MG ZR Damper Kits and all XPower Lowering Spring Kits)

Shipping

If industrial action affects one of our courier partners we reserve the right to use alternative carriers - this will be at our cost, and is solely aimed at getting your parts to you as quickly as possible.

Any missing items must be reported within 7 days of receiving your order - please include as much information as possible in the report including any damage to the parcel, damage to other parts etc.

All damaged items must also be reported within 7 days of receiving your order. Our courier will not accept claims out of this timescale, and as such we cannot replace or refund any parts reported as damaged outside of this timescale.

We strongly advise customers to inform us of any issues with your order as soon as possible, preferably within 48 hours to ensure disruption for repair timescales is minimised.

We only offer our UPS service to customers in the Scottish Highlands and on the Isle of Wight - if this option is used out of area, we will substitute with another carrier such as FedEx or Royal Mail.

Please note that for International orders we reserve the right to charge additional shipping costs where necessary - we will discuss this with you before shipment if this applies to you.
99% of International shipments are covered by the postage fee charged by the Online Shop, however some outlying areas and difficult-to-access countries carry surcharges which we need to pass on.
We will never ask for any additional outgoing postage charges once an item has been sent by us - we will always discuss this before the order is posted, and you have the right to cancel your order if you wish.

Customs fees and Duties

When we send parts outside of the UK, your local Government agency responsible for Customs clearance and Duties may levy charges on your delivery.
These will need to be paid or the parcel will be returned to us.
We are not responsible for these fees; we remove UK VAT on all orders leaving the UK and from then you will be responsible for any Duties / Taxes levied etc.

If your parcel is returned due to non-payment of Duties / Taxes, you will be liable for any return charges and the original outgoing postage costs.

If the courier can't collect Duties / Taxes from you, the courier company may invoice us for these charges. We reserve the right to pass this invoice on to you for payment.

Returns

Unless otherwise agreed by us, the customer will be responsible for all return costs. Where we agree to cover return costs (ie where we have made a mistake) the costs will be limited as follows:

Up to 100g - 72p (Large Letter stamp, 2nd Class)

101-2,000g - £2.80 (Small Parcel, 2nd Class)

2.01 - 5KG - £4.79 (InPost Locker Service)

5.01 - 10KG - £5.99 (InPost Locker Service)

We recommend ensuring your shipment back to us is insured - we cannot be held liable if the item is lost in the post while with a courier used for returns.

When items are returned within 28 days of delivery, we can refund or exchange for you.
Unfortunately we can't accept returns for non-faulty goods after this period.
All non-faulty goods must be returned in their original packaging and in as-new condition.
Parts returned with damage from fitting, missing boxes / packaging etc will not be accepted.

Please note that any specially-ordered items are non-returnable unless agreed otherwise by us.

Exchanges

Due to large amounts of parts not being returned to us when we've agreed to facilitate an exchange, we have the follow process in place without exception.

All exchanges (for change of mind, incorrectly ordered parts or mistakes made by us) will be governed by our standard returns policy above.
If you need the replacement part before the original is sent back to us, we will require a 50% deposit to be paid on the replacement part - this will be refunded in full when the original part is sent back to us.

There will be no exceptions to this policy - if you're not willing to pay the deposit, we will need the original part back with us before we can send the replacement.

Product Descriptions

We work hard to keep our product descriptions up-to date, by completing the checkout you are confirming that you have read and understood the product descriptions and have utilised any drop-down menus in the listings.

Warranty Terms

We're a business designed around the concept of providing parts for your MG Rover for DIY fitting. While we will do everything we can to make warranty claims as simple as possible, there are a few terms relating to the warranty you need to be aware of:

- We do not pay for labour for part removal and refitting.

- Any parts returned under warranty must be completely unmodified; any modification or damage will invalidate your warranty.

- The warranty covers replacement of the affected part only - not subsequent failures. We will endeavour to assist as much as possible where failure of a part causes other issues, however our liability is strictly limited to the part itself and replacement of such.

- The warranty term on all products unless stated is 12 months, however where a part would be reasonably expected to last a lot longer than this, we do consider either a contribution towards replacement or a partial credit in line with the Sale of Goods Act / Consumer Rights Act. Some products are exempt from this 'flexible warranty' policy - where not applicable, the fixed warranty length will be visible on the product's page.

Products that have failed 28 days or less from the date of purchase are eligible for a refund or replacement at your choice, products that are more than 28 days older at the point of failure are eligible for a credit note or exchange, also at your choice.

Credit Notes

If an item is returned to us faulty or as a general return within accordance to the warranty process described above, we may issue you with a credit of up to 100% of the purchase value. The credit value will only be applicable for 120 days after the credit is agreed between Discount MG Rover Spares LTD and the customer. During the 120 days the value can be refunded but after this time has elapsed the credit will be voided.
