They're Genuine MG Rover parts, and can also help cure the 'sticky bonnet release' issues the 45 / ZS suffer with. 

The striker is the part bolted to the leading edge of the bonnet which locks into the bonnet latch (FPS100442) when the bonnet is closed. 

Please note that a lot of issues with the bonnet release are caused by the latches themselves being internally corroded - we have these too.
