The Coolant Expansion Tank is becoming a well-known weak point of these cars - with age the plastic weakens, eventually leading to failure. 

Compatible with both Mk1 and Mk2 vehicles - please note this Coolant Tank does not have the facility for a Coolant Level Sensor to be fitted. 
They can still be used with Mk2 cars fitted with a Level Sensor, however this functionality will not work and your coolant level will need to be monitored manually. 

One of our own cars recently had the Expansion Tank fail while undergoing MOT test; while there were small stress cracks in the side of the tank, it certainly didn't appear to be about to fail catastrophically (see photographs). 

These are currently very hard to find, however we've had a batch re-created by a top-tier aftermarket supplier at a fantastic price!

A new Febi Coolant Cap is included with this part - this is what we believe to be the best cap on the market, and covers both PCD100160 (K / L Series) and PCD000040 (KV6) applications.
